TRANSCRIPTION

Bien cher ami,

En rentrant de réunion dans le
pays Rhénan, fourbu d’ailleurs et
alité pour quelques jours, je trouv
e vos lettres

M. He
ugel
vous renseignera à cet égard. Je vous
remercie d’y avoir songé, à preuve
que vous n’oubliez pas trop
votre admirateur et ami.

G. Charpentier

TRANSLATION

My dearest friend,

Back from a meeting in the Rhénan
country
1, quite tired and
confined to bed for a few days, I found your letters
and I am sorry to have kept you
without any news. (It is a very bad
acknowledgment of such a sweet thought).
We have given an act of the work

to the Trocadéro2 with the Opéra Comique3.
I do not believe it is permitted
to present a repertoire piece without
the Theatre’s cooperation. Mr. He
ugel4
will inform you to that effect. I thank you
for having thought about it, a proof
you do not neglect
your friend and admirer.

G. Charpentier
