ABOUT THE COMPOSER

Franz Mittler was an Austria-born poet, composer and pianist. Mittler was born in Vienna, on April 14,1893. He studied in Vienna and Cologne. He came to the United States in 1939 where he settled in New York. Mittler died in Munich on December 28, 1970. His compositions include an opera, "Rafaella," a piano trio in G, Op. 3 (1911-Published by Simrock), and numerous songs and smaller works for piano.
