Enclosed is the program of our last concert for
inclusion at your convenience in the "Signals,"
with the remark that of course the men from
Leipzig were exceptionally well received here,
so that it is the general wish to hear them again
as soon as possible. —You will be most cooperative
in adding this remark to the program. —Also, a small
item for your paper on the death of the veteran flautist
Zizold1, who was quite well known in the world of music.
Please include the enclosed advertisement in the
advertising section; I will have Liegel pay you the fee.

The chamber musician Zizold, well known far and wide as
an excellent flautist and fine musician in every respect,
died in Brunswick on Nov[ember] 30.
NOTES:
1) A. H. Zizold
was an acquaintance of composer Johann Nepomuk
Hummel (1778–1837), a brilliant Hungarian-born pianist and composer.
ABOUT THE COMPOSER
Franz Abt was born in 1819 in Eilenburg, Germany. Abt showed
an early talent for music. He attended the Thomas School (where J.S. Bach had
once been cantor) in Leipzig, 25 kilometers southwest of Eilenburg. While in
Leipzig, he published his first composition. From 1845 to 1852, Abt moved to
Zurich where he conducted the famous concerts of the "general music association"
at Zurich. In 1852, he moved to Braunschweig. Abt died in Wiesbaden in 1885.
